This research discusses the efforts of Center for International Forestry Reseacrh on Participatory Action Research-Community Based Fire Preventing and Peatland Restoration study case at Dompas village, Riau Indonesia. Peatland burns and damage has become global environmental issues. Peat is a type of soil that absorbs carbon and will release millions of tons of carbon emissions when it damages. Fire and peat damage are difficult issues to overcome, some regulations on peatland use often causes local communities losing their livelihoods as many local communities depend on economic and social needs on peatlands.
This research uses the perspective of greenthought using the concept of international organization. Center for International Forestry Reseacrch is an international orgnization which concern on forestry issues, with this reseacrch looking for sollution for better peatland environtment and local community revitalization.
The Participatory Action Research focuses on looking for fire prevention and restoration solutions of peatland which still benefit the community through Participatory Action Research¬-Community Based on Fire Prevention and Peatland Restoration that are implemented directly with the community.
