Peningkatan Kualitas Tepung Daun Eceng Gondok (Eichhornia Crassipes) Difermentasi Cairan Rumen Sapi Sebagai Bahan Baku Pakan Benih Ikan Jelawat (Leptobarbus Hoeveni)
ABSTRACT
The research was conducted from August to December 2018. The research aims to
determine using improvement of the quality of water hyacinth leaf meal (Eichhornia
crassipes) fermented cow rumen liqour as ingredients for jelawat (Leptobarbus hoeveni)
seeds. The research was conducted in three stages. Stage one: Proximate TDEG test given
CRS without carbon and added carbon. Stage two: measuring temperature and pH during the
fermentation process, organoleptic test and proximate test of the quality of water hyacinth
leaf meal (E. crassipes) fermented cow rumen liqour. Stage three: analysis of enzyme activity
and digestibility of feed ingredients. The results showed that the quality of water hyacinth
leaf meal could be improved through the fermentation process using cow rumen fluid. The
best quality improvement was using 300 ml/kg of water hyacinth leaf flour which resulted in
a score of 3.73 on the smell observation, resulting in a score of 2.02 on the texture
observation. Decreased crude fiber content from 20.04% to 16.80% and increased protein
content from 11.315% to 13.32%, decreased fat content from 1.08% to 0.33%. The highest
enzyme activity was the amylase enzyme activity, namely 5.792 U / mL and 23.74-32.44%
digestibility.
