Pengaruh Pelapisan Logam Terhadap Morfologi Dan Sifat Optik Nanomaterial Zink Oksida

The development of zinc oxide nanomaterial (ZnO) is very interesting to
study because of its important role in various applications. ZnO nanomaterials can
be fabricated by many methods. Enhancement of physical properties of ZnO
nanomanaterials can be carried out through a process of doping, coating or
composite with metal materials and non metal materials. This research aims to
synthesize and characterize ZnO nanomaterials coated with aluminum(Al),
palladium(Pd), gold(Au) and silver(Ag). Nanomaterials of ZnO are synthesized by
an easy and relatively cheap method, namely seed mediated hydrothermal method.
The ZnO seed and growth process is carried out on the Indium Tin Oxide (ITO)
substrate, then characterized using UV-Vis spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD),
Field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) and Energy-dispersive Xray
(EDX).
The UV-Vis spectrum from sample shown that strong absorption occurs at
wavelength range 300–380 nm for all samples. The bandgap energy for all samples
are range of 3,21–3,28 eV. The XRD pattern shows five diffraction peaks at angles
2θ = 31,61°, 34,43°, 36,19°, 47,38° dan 56,55°. Based on the database of JCPDS
for ZnO nanomaterials which analyzed by Eva Diffrac Plus software, each peaks
corresponds to the crystal orientation of (100), (002), (101), (102) and (101),
respectively. The FESEM images from sample show the ZnO form a hexagonal rods
with a hexagonal cross section. Foto FESEM also show that ZnO nanorod has a
different size with range (27-373) nm.
The EDX test of the sample Al:ZnO+Au and Pd:ZnO+Ag detected the
presence of Zn, O, Sn, Al, In, Au and Zn,O, Sn, In, Pd, Ag with weight percentages
(w/w) of 78,7%, 18,0%, 2,1%, 1,1%, 0,2%, 0,0%, and 78.1 %, 16,7 %, 4,9 %, 0,3
%, 0,0 %, 0,0 %. The presence of Al has no effect on the surface structure of the
ZnO nanorods. The Pd coated tend to degradate the surface structure of the
nanorod. The findings of ZnO synthesis by coating several metals in this study can
be possible used for various applications, such as applications on dye-sensitized
solar cells (DSSC), biodetectors and optoeletronics.
