Pengaruh Kompetensi Profesional Dan Efikasi Diri Terhadap Kinerja Guru IPA Di SMP Negeri Kota Pekanbaru
Teacher performance is one of the determinants of the progress of an educational institution. Performance is the result of work shown by a worker in completing his work in accordance with predetermined conditions and in accordance with existing norms and ethics and has a certain quality and quantity (EncepSafrudinMuhyi, 2011: 50). The low performance of teachers can be influenced by internal factors, which are related to the professional competence and self-efficacy of the teacher. Regarding professional competence, there is a tendency that there are still teachers who have not mastered science learning material in depth. This is because teachers have inappropriate educational qualifications, namely from physics education or biology education. Meanwhile, in junior high schools, teachers must teach science in an integrated manner. In addition, there is also a tendency for science teachers to have low self-confidence in carrying out their assigned tasks. Self-efficacy of a teacher is a belief in his ability to bring the desired results from the main task carried out. Therefore, a teacher who has a positive attitude towards his duties will be able to carry out his duties and functions as a teacher with full responsibility. Teachers who have high self-efficacy have a high fighting spirit in mobilizing all their potential to achieve the success of their duties.
