Pengaruh Penambahan Dosis Biochar Tandan Kosong Kelapa Sawit (Tkks) Terhadap Efisiensi Penurunan Kadar Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon (Tph) Pada Tanah Tercemar Minyak Bumi
ABSTRACT
Biochar has the potential to improve soil physical and biological properties.
Biochar has many pores that can absorb toxic compounds such as polycyclic
aromatic hydrocarbons, so that it can reduce the toxicity in the soil. The purpose
of this study was to determine the effect of increasing the dose of biochar from
EFB on reducing TPH levels in petroleum contaminated soil. Biochar was made
using a pyrolysis device at 400oC for 2 hours. The dosage variation used in this
study was 3%; 5%; and 7% with an incubation time of 28 days. Biochar from
EFB in this study has met the requirements for activated carbon based on SNI 06-
3730-1995, with a water content of 1,45%, an ash content of 9,3%, a volatile
matter of 21%, and a fixed carbon of 68,25%. The results showed that the highest
efficiency of decreasing TPH levels occurred at the addition of biochar doses of
7%, so that the TPH levels in the soil became 1,4% with %degradation of 54.10%.
