ABSTRACT
Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau is one of the areas that have the potential to produce the
largest fish in Riau Province, one of which is the third-largest fish producing area in
Rokan Hilir Regency is in Sinaboi District, Sinaboi District has six villages, one of
which is Sinaboi Village which has Bangliau or fish landing sites. owned by the
private sector and the dominant fishing gear used is the pole traps. The purpose of
this study is to identify the construction and the level of environmental friendliness of
the pole traps using 8 criteria by Monintja (2001). The research was carried out in
April 2020 with the observation method, namely the author went directly to the
interview and saw the situation directly, the pole traps were constructed using
Coreldraw 18 and environmentally friendly indicators using Rangkuti (2002) with the
arithmetic mean formula or the usual average calculation formula. The results
showed that the pole traps in Sinaboi got a score of 23.51 with a score of the third
indicator with a value range of 17-24 in the environmentally friendly category, thus
the pole traps that are operated in Sinaboi waters are classified as environmentally
friendly.
