Strategi Pengembangan Peternakan Sapi Potong Berbasis Agribisnis Dengan Pola Kemitraan Di Kota Pekanbaru
Bintal Amin and Suwondo.
Riau Province experiences a shortage of beef cattle supply every year,
which is caused by an imbalance between supply and demand. The development
of an agribusiness-oriented beef cattle business with a partnership pattern is one
alternative to increase farmer profits and support sustainable productivity. Beef
cattle agribusiness is a micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) whose
development is relatively slow in Pekanbaru. For this reason, an effective beef
cattle agribusiness development strategy is needed. Based on the potential of
natural resources and the need for beef in Pekanbaru, development efforts
become an urgent need. The purpose of this study is to design a management
strategy for the development of agribusiness-based beef cattle farming with a
partnership pattern in Pekanbaru City. The research has been carried out from
February to March 2021. This research uses a quantitative approach with survey
research and direct observation in the field. Primary data were collected from
observations, in-depth interviews with structured questionnaire instruments,
livestock agribusiness calculations, and environmental data from river water in
Rumbai District and Tenayan Raya District for BOD, COD, and Total Coliform
testing. Secondary data obtained from the department and related parties in this
study. The analysis used in this research is descriptive analysis and SWOT
analysis to determine the appropriate and appropriate management strategy. The
results of BOD testing in Rumbai District river water are below the quality
standard, while Tenayan Raya District is above the quality standard of 11 mg/L,
the results of COD testing in Rumbai District are still below the quality standard
while Tenayan Raya District is above the quality standard of 36 mg/L. L, the
results of the Total Coliform test in Tenayan Raya District are below the quality
standard while in Rumbai District it is above the quality standard, which is
24,000 jlh/100 ml. SWOT results from beef cattle development, are in a strong
internal position and respond to existing opportunities to avoid threats. The
strategy used is SO, namely increasing productivity by utilizing available
resources, technology, partnership patterns, capital networks, and with
government assistance, expanding beef cattle development and improving the
quality of livestock human resources to improve the quality of livestock products
and strengthen networks between breeders, suppliers, and customers.
