Isolasi Senyawa Metabolit Sekunder Dan Penghambatan Α-Glukosidase Dari Ekstrak Etil Asetat Tanaman Miana Hijau (Coleus Hybridus)
Coleus hybridus better known as "green iler or green miana" is one of the
traditional plants from the Lamiaceae family with various varieties of leaves that
used as medicines. This study aims to isolate secondary metabolites and test the
inhibition of α-glucosidase activity of green miana. Isolation of compounds was
carried out by maceration method using methanol as solvent. The methanol
extract was fractionated gradually with n-hexane and ethyl acetate as solvents to
obtain a thick extract of ethyl acetate. The ethyl acetate extract was separated
using vacuum liquid chromatography (VLC). Pure compounds were characterized
by FTIR. The test was carried out using the in vitro α-glucosidase inhibitory assay
method. The isolated compound was code named CHG-E4 with a melting point of
136-137°C. The antidiabetic activity test showed that the ethyl acetate extract had
an IC50 value of 415,15 g/mL. Based on this study, it can be concluded that the
ethyl acetate extract of the green miana plant is potential as an antidiabetic
activity.
