Strategi Pengembangan Ekowisata Mangrove Berbasis Masyarakat Di Alam Berembang Bertuah Kampung Suak Merambai Kabupaten Siak

Ecotourism is an alternative livelihood for coastal communities that can increase their income. In the development of ecotourism, it really requires a direct participation from the community. Community strategies in environmental management will help the government in the development of ecotourism and can realize a good ecotourism development so as to create the desired ecotourism area. This research was conducted in mangrove ecotourism of Alam Berembang Bertuah located in Suak Merambai Village, Siak Regency. The research method that used is a descriptive approach with a survey method. Primary data were obtained from observations, transects, interviews, and document studies. Secondary data obtained from literature study. The results showed that the composition of mangrove species found in Suak Merambai Village included 7 species from 7 families, dominated by the Sonneratiaceae family in all growth strata, especially Sonneratia alba species. The level of community participation in the development of mangrove ecotourism in Suak Merambai Village started from the planning stage. Implementation, utilization of results and evaluation are in the high category. This is because the community knows well about the concept of ecotourism and there is an encouragement in public awareness about the ecotourism potential of Kampung Suak Merambai. The ecotourism development strategy in Suak Merambai Village is in quadrant I (one) with a value of X=0.47 and Y=1.38. In this quadrant the S-O (Strength-Opportunities) Strategy is a strategy that needs to be prioritized in the development of mangrove ecotourism in Suak Merambai Village because it has strengths and opportunities that can be utilized in developing the area as an ecotourism area. The results of determining the strategy for developing mangrove ecotourism using SWOT analysis includes: expanding mangrove ecotourism by developing community-based management and making more attractive physical design plans to create more economic income opportunities by increasing further promotion of mangrove ecotourism, and also creating an official website so that the visitors will increase even more, adding existing facilities such as adding more hut And optimizing the maintenance of current facilities and infrastructure, by utilizing the role of community resources. Preserve the ecotourism of mangrove tourism while still paying attention to the carrying capacity of the area. Keywords : Ecotourism, Community Participation, Development Strategy, SWOT
