Mitigasi Konflik Manusia Dan Harimausumatera Di Sekitaran Hutan Tanaman Industri Pt. Arara Abadi Distrik Tapung
Rampant hunting and habitat fragmentation are factors that cause conflict between humans and tigers. Habitat available for exploration is shrinking, and prey populations are decreasing; while the human population is increasing, the forest-dwellinganimals are forced to come into conflict with the community. Common losses due to conflict include predation of lives to ckoreven human and tiger casualties. For this reason, proper conflict management is needed. This study aims to identify the bioecology of the Sumatran tiger, analyze the typology and, the risk level of human and Sumatran tiger conflict also to determine the mitigation of human and Sumatran tiger conflict in the PT. Arara Abadi Tapung District. This research uses a qualitative approach characterized as a case study. Data collections was done by means of observation, document study, and interviews. The qualitative data analysis technique carried out in this study was divided into three activities: data reduction, data presentation, conclusion and verification. The estimated population of Sumatran tigers in the Petapahan enclaves are 3 to 4 tigers. The home range of the ID Ijal tiger is basedon a 15 km camera trap and a 94 km foot print analysis. The types of tiger's prey are wildboars, ground squirrels, tapirs, ground squirrels, monitor lizards, monkeys and sambar deer. The Sumatran tiger's habitat at there search site is quite abundant. The typology of conflict belongs to type two. Conflicts that occur in the Rantau Sorcerer Village are oflowrisk. Meanwhile, the conflict that occurred in Kota Garo Village was moderate risk. Conflict mitigation is carried out by educating the community, installing camera traps, patrols and caged livestock.
