Pengaruh Metode Speed Reading Terhadap Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman Siswa Kelas V SDN 145 Pekanbaru
This study aims to determine the effect of reading comprehension before and after applying the Speed Reading Method. This type of research is Pre-Experimental design type One Group Pretest-Postest Design, namely experiments conducted on one group only, without any comparison. This research was conducted at SDN 145 Pekanbaru class V with a total of 38 students. Based on the results of the study, it was obtained that the average score of the test of learning outcomes before treatment (pretest) was 57.54 while the average score of the test of learning outcomes after treatment (posttest) was 81.58 and the average value of gain was 0.61 which is moderate interpretation, and the results of hypothesis testing using a t-test with t count = 13.89 and t table = 2.0374, it is concluded that t count > t table, then reject H0 which means it is significant. This means that there is an influence on the reading comprehension skills of fifth graders at SDN 145 Pekanbaru between before (pretest) and after (posttest) applying the Speed Reading Method. This shows that the Speed Reading Method has an effect on the reading comprehension skills of fifth graders at SDN 145 Pekanbaru.
