ABSTRACT
Pometia pinnata is a type of plant that is used by the community as traditional medicine. Pometia pinnata cultivation in Riau Province with peat soil types often experiences problems, where peat is marginal land for agriculture because of its low fertility, so it is necessary to apply fertilizer to increase soil fertility. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect and the best composition of mixed media of peat soil and elephant feces compost on the growth of Pometia pinnata seedlings. This study used a completely randomized design consisting of 4 treatments and 6 replications. The data obtained were further analyzed using variance, using SPSS software and further tested using the DNMRT test with a level of 5%. Giving planting media a mixture of peat soil and elephant feces compost affected the growth of Pometia pinnata seedlings and the best composition of planting media mixed with peat soil and elephant feces compost to increase the growth of Pometia pinnata seedlings was a composition of 50% -50% (D4 treatment) with a yield of 100 percent survival. %, increase in height 7.30 cm, increase in diameter 0.71 mm, plant dry weight 3.65 g, top-root ratio 3.00.
