Potensi Minyak Atsiri Daun Salam (Syzygium Polyanthum) Berdasarkan Lama Penyimpanan Bahan Baku

ABSTRACT
Bay leaf Syzygium polyanthum is one of the plants of the Myrtaceae family that is useful as a spice in cooking, traditional medicine, and is needed in various industries such as the perfume, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical industries. Bay leaf has a lot of chemical content, one of which is essential oil. The process of isolation essential oil bay leaf can be carried out by the method distillation water. This study aims to determine the potential of bay leaf essential oil with storage time treatment. This research using Randomized Complete Design (RCD) consist of three (3) treatment and three (3) replication.The treatments used were P1 = fresh bay leaf, P2 = storage time for 19 hours, P3 = storage time for 43 hours. The result of research shows that fresh bay leaf, storage time for 19 hours and storage time for 43 hours not significantly affect on essential oil produced.
