Analisis Kesalahan Peserta Didik Dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) Asam Basa Berdasarkan Prosedur Newman Di Kelas XI Mipa MAN 1 Pekanbaru
Errors made by students need to be analyzed further by classifying these errors in
certain categories to be directed at correcting more specific errors. This study aims
to determine the percentage and causes of errors made by Pekanbaru MAN 1
students in solving acid-base HOTS questions based on Newman's procedure. This
type of research is descriptive research with a quantitative approach and a
qualitative approach. Data collection methods in this study used test questions and
interviews. The results showed that 9% of students had reading errors, 51,67% of
students had misunderstood problems, 41,33% of students had transformation
errors, 45% of students had process skills errors, and 49% students experience
errors in writing the final answer. In this study it was also known the causes of
students experiencing errors based on the types of errors according to Newman's
procedure. This shows that there are still difficulties that cause students to
experience errors in solving acid-base HOTS questions.
