This study aims to determine the misconceptions and categories of misconceptions level of class XI MIPA students at SMAN 8 Pekanbaru and SMAN 6 Pekanbaru on the concept of acid-base material in the even semester of the 2022/2023 school year and data collection was carried out in February-April 2023. The sample in this study was class XI MIPA students at SMAN 8 Pekanbaru and SMAN 6 Pekanbaru totaling 178 students. The instrument used in the study was four-level multiple choice questions. This type of research is descriptive quantitative data collection technique is a diagnostic test. The results of identifying the level of understanding of students' concepts revealed that the percentage of students in SMA Negeri 8 Pekanbaru who were included in the category of misconceptions was 36.22% in the moderate category. The percentage of students in SMA Negeri 6 Pekanbaru, the percentage of students who have misconceptions is 36.29% in the moderate category.
