Analisis Neraca Air Pada Kawasan Lahan Gambut Lanskap Perkebunan Kelapa Sawit
ABSTRACT
The oil palm plantation landscape of PT Bumi Palma Lestari Persada (BPLP) is an area where there is a peat dome in the Sungai Enok-Sungai Batang KHG, which plays an important role in water treatment to maintain the peat ecosystem. BPLP also builds many canals, which if not managed properly can cause peatlands to continue to degrade. Good water management is the key to environmentally friendly oil palm cultivation on peatlands, so it is necessary to calculate the water balance in order to determine the condition and quantity of water. The model used is Thornthwaite & Mather Water Balance. The analysis and discussion will examine the condition of the water balance quantity calculated by the climatological water balance method and the land water balance which already takes into account the surface runoff discharge component. The results of the climatological water balance analysis in 2018 and 2019 show that there is a shortage of water (deficit), while in 2020 to 2022 in September there is excess water (surplus). However, the condition and quantity of the land water balance each year has a deficit from 2018 to 2021 and a surplus in 2022. The month that has the largest deficit for 5 years in all Zones occurs in September 2019 Zone 1 with a volume of 2.00×106 m3 and the largest surplus in November 2018 Zone 1 with a volume of 1.26×106 m3. This study also correlated the results of the calculation of the water balance with the water level of the lake.
