ABSTRACT
Bangau Sakti Road is located in Bina Widya Sub-district of Pekanbaru City, this road connects HR Soebrantas road and Naga Sakti road which is a collector road, with a short distance, so this road is classified as a local road. In the urban transportation system, Pekanbaru is one of the cities that has a high level of vehicle density that causes traffic congestion. Bangau Sakti is a road that is congested with vehicles to find out this, a traffic volume survey was conducted at STA 00+550 - STA 00+750 on Monday July 17, 2023, Thursday July 20, 2023, and Saturday July 22, 2023. From the calculation of traffic volume on Bangau Sakti road, the highest traffic volume was on the first day, Monday, July 17, 2023, the peak flow of vehicles occurred at 18.00 - 19.00 WIB with a total vehicle volume of 1,059.80 smp / hour and the number of vehicles is 2,216 vehicles/hour. Based on the calculation of the side obstacles of the road section, the value of the side obstacles of Bangau Sakti road is 74.4, including the class of very low side obstacles (VL), where the capacity on the Bangau Sakti road section is 1,449 smp/hour. The free flow speed of light vehicles is 20.99 MPH, and the free flow speed of motorcycles is 18.56 MPH. The performance of this Bangau Sakti road section can be seen from the degree of saturation 0.73 smaller than 0.75, so the road performance is stable. The level of service can be categorized in level of service C which is Stable flow (real delay but still acceptable).
