ABSTRACT
This research aims to determine the effect of Economic Growth, Minimum Wage
Level, and Inflation on Employment Opportunities in Riau Province sourced from
the Riau Provincial Statistics Agency as well as journals and literature related to
this research. The data analysis method used in this research is quantitative
descriptive analysis method. The results of economic growth research in Riau
Province proved to have a positive effect on employment opportunities. With a
significant relationship between these two variables, strategic steps need to be
taken to maximize the potential of economic growth as a driver of job creation. An
increase in the minimum wage can stimulate labor productivity, increase
motivation, and encourage people's purchasing power. This increase in purchasing
power can lead to an increase in demand for goods and services, which in turn can
encourage firms to hire more workers to meet the higher demand. Inflation can
affect the labor market through increased input costs and decreased consumer
purchasing power, which may result in a reduction in the size of the workforce or
restrictions on hiring. However, in the context of this study, the impact of inflation
is not apparent. The insignificant effect of inflation may be due to the stability of
inflation during the study period or the success of macroeconomic policies
implemented by the government in managing inflation.
