Perubahan Sosial Ekonomi Pedagang Kaki Lima Di Kampung Kuliner Taman Bukit Gelanggang Kota Dumai
This study aims to analyze the social and economic changes experienced by street vendors in the Culinary Village of Taman Bukit Gelanggang, Dumai City. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research involves in-depth interviews and direct observations of the vendors. The findings indicate that the presence of the Culinary Village has a significant impact on the increase in income and quality of life for the vendors. The rising number of visitors to the park, especially on weekends, has created better business opportunities for the vendors. Additionally, social interactions between vendors and customers have also increased, fostering a warmer and more familiar atmosphere. Vendors implement various strategies to attract consumers, including improving product quality, enhancing the appearance of their stalls, and utilizing social media for promotion. This research is expected to contribute to the understanding of social and economic dynamics in culinary areas and provide recommendations for policy development that supports the sustainability of street vendor businesses in Dumai City.
