Perancangan Sudu Turbin Vortex Variasi Berbentuk Rumah Keong
ABSTRACT
Energy is a crucial element in every aspect of human life. With the high global dependence on fossil fuels as the main source of energy, challenges arise due to the depletion of this non-renewable resource. Vortex turbines are one of the turbines that have the potential to produce clean electricity. Vortex turbines work by converting the kinetic energy of water into mechanical energy.
In this study, the design of a snail-shaped turbine blade variation and the addition of fins will be carried out. The blade to be designed is a curved blade with the addition of fins on the inside of the blade. The snail will be cut at the top and bottom, then split in two vertically to see the inside of the snail. This fin takes the shape of the inside of the snail. With this fin to see its effect on the dependent variable. To see the difference, it will be compared with a snail-shaped blade without fins.
From the design results, the upper diameter value is 90 mm, the diameter is 60 mm, the blade height is 100 mm, the number of blades is 5, and the position of the blade in the turbine is 0.6945 m from the inlet basin. This is proven by the increase in output power from 5,589 Watts (runner without fins) to 14,027 Watts (runner with fins). In addition, the efficiency of the turbine also increased from 22.185% to 55.673%. With a theoretical water power of 25.195 Watts.
