Keanekaragaman Kepiting Biola (Uca Spp.) Di Desa Tanah Merah Kecamatan Tanah Merah Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir
Fiddler crabs (Uca spp.) have an important role in maintaining the balance of the food chain and nitrogen cycle in mangrove ecosystems. The Tanah Merah Village community utilizes mangrove wood in their daily lives which can damage and loss of mangrove vegetation ecosystems. Mangrove damage can cause loss of habitat for various types of aquatic biota, one of which is the fiddler crab. This study aims to analyze the diversity of fiddler crabs in the mangrove ecosystem area of Tanah Merah Village, Tanah Merah District. The method used in this study was purposive sampling with three stations (Station I residential area, Station II boat harbor, and Station III dense mangrove area). Each station has three transects measuring 5m with a distance of 5m between transects, then made a plot measuring 1m × 1m as many as 3 plots with a distance of 1m between plots. Water quality parameters measured include temperature, salinity, pH, and DO. The parameter that greatly affects the life of fiddler crabs is salinity. The results of research in Tanah Merah Village at Station I (H’ 0.95, E 0.685, C 0.44), Station II (H’ 1.366, E 0.985, C 0.26), and Station III (H’ 1.088, E 0.785, C 0.34) with the snare method dan Station I (H’ 0.955, E 0.689, C 0.428), Station II (H’ 1.214, E 0.876, C 0.333), and Station
III (H’ 1.059, E 0.764, C 0.359) with the hand capture. The diversity H' Station I is included in the low category, diversity (H') Station II and III show moderate diversity, especially at Station III which is a dense mangrove area that supports the life of fiddler crabs (Uca spp.), Evenness (E) at the three stations is categorized as high, dominance (C)at the three stations shows no dominant fiddler crabs. The fiddler crabs found totaled 77 individuals with four species namely Uca paradussumieri, Uca acuta, Uca rosea, and Uca forcipata.
