Pertumbuhan Bibit Kelapa Sawit (Elaeis Guineensis Jacq.) Yang Diberi Pupuk Organik Libo Ganik Dan Npkmg 20:6:14:3 Di Main Nursery
ABSTRACT
Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is the primary source of vegetable oil, with
higher productivity compared to other oil-producing crops. In Riau Province, the
area of oil palm plantations continues to expand annually. This expansion has led
to an increased demand for large quantities of seedlings, thereby necessitating
effective nursery practices. In oil palm seedling cultivation, the availability of
high-quality seedlings remains a major challenge faced by farmers. One of the
efforts to improve seedling quality is through balanced fertilization. Fertilization
can be carried out using either organic or inorganic fertilizers. An example of the
organic fertilizer used is Libo Ganik, while the inorganic fertilizer applied is
NPKMg 20:6:14:3.This study aimed to evaluate the effects of combining Libo
Ganik organic fertilizer and NPKMg 20:6:14:3 inorganic fertilizer, as well as to
determine the best treatment for enhancing the growth of oil palm seedlings in the
main nursery. The observed parameters included seedling height increment,
increase in number of leaves, increase in bole diameter, root volume, shoot-to-root
ratio, and seedling dry weight. The results showed that the combination of Libo
Ganik organic fertilizer and NPKMg 20:6:14:3 inorganic fertilizer had a
significant effect on several growth parameters, including seedling height
increment, root volume, shoot-to-root ratio, and seedling dry weight at the age of
3 to 7 months. The best treatment for enhancing the growth of Topaz variety oil
palm seedlings aged 3 to 7 months was the application of 200 g of Libo Ganik
organic fertilizer combined with 50% of the recommended dosage of NPKMg
20:6:14:3.
