Upaya Pemerintah Daerah Kuantan Singingi Mengatasi Kerusakan Lingkungan Akibat Penambangan Emas Tanpa Izin Dalam Perspektif Negara Kesejateraan
Environmental damage due to human activities continues to be one of the
biggest challenges in the modern era, especially in areas rich in natural
resources. Illegal Gold Mining in Kuantan Singingi Regency has caused
significant environmental damage, such as water and soil pollution, and loss of
biodiversity. This phenomenon not only threatens the sustainability of the
environment, but also has a negative impact on community welfare, such as
declining health quality and loss of livelihoods for people who depend on these
natural resources, in the perspective of a welfare state, the efforts of the Kuantan
Singingi Regency Government to overcome this problem involve regulation,
rehabilitation, and community empowerment.
The type of research used in this study is empirical legal or sociological
legal research. Empirical legal research is research conducted by conducting
legal identification and how the effectiveness of the law applies in society. While
the nature of this research is descriptive, namely research that describes various
facts, symptoms and facts found in social life in depth, while the purpose of this
study is to find out and analyze how the environmental improvement of state land
damaged by Illegal Gold Mining in the Perspective of the Welfare State Based.
The results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded. First, the
Kuantan Singingi Regency government has broad authority to handle
environmental damage due to Illegal Gold Mining, including supervision, control,
action, and land rehabilitation. Second, land improvement due to Illegal Gold
Mining is important to restore the ecosystem and prevent long-term impacts such
as erosion, water pollution, natural disasters, and health problems due to
exposure to heavy metals, and, in a welfare state, handling environmental damage
due to Illegal Gold Mining must balance community welfare and environmental
sustainability.
