Implementasi Geographic Information System Untuk Pemetaan Alumni Program Study Teknik Informatika Universitas Riau
ABSTRACT
Tracer study is a key instrument for higher education institutions to evaluate graduates’ success in the labor market and the relevance of competencies learned during their studies. This research implements a web-based alumni distribution system integrated with Geographic Information System (GIS) in the Informatics Engineering Study Program at Universitas Riau. The proposed solution leverages Laravel and Leaflet.js to deliver an interactive map connected to alumni data, equipped with search, filtering, and detailed popup views so that static records can be analyzed spatially. The method adopts a Research and Development (R&D) approach with a prototype, followed by black-box functional testing and software quality evaluation based on ISO 25010. The results show that all functional scenarios ran successfully; quality assessment confirms that functional suitability is met, reliability and security achieved A ratings via SonarQube, performance efficiency indicates fast load times, maintainability is rated A, and portability as well as compatibility are fulfilled across browsers and devices. Usability evaluation using the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) places all scales in the “Excellent” category. Therefore, the GIS implementation effectively transforms static data into actionable spatial insights that support decision-making and enrich the tracer study process at the study program level.
