This study examines the influence of social skills on the quality of village official services
to the community in Perawang Indah Village, Tualang District, Siak Regency. The problem raised
is how social skills affect the quality of service in the context of tangibles, responsiveness, and
empathy. Additionally, this study examines the extent to which social skills play a role in shaping
the quality of village official services.
This study aims to: 1) Describe the social skills of village officials to the community in
Perawang Indah Village, Tualang District, Siak Regency. 2) Describe the quality of village official
services to the community in Perawang Indah Village, Tualang District, Siak Regency. 3)
Determine the influence of social skills on the quality of village official services to the community
in Perawang Indah Village, Tualang District, Siak Regency.
This study uses a quantitative ex-post facto method, where the independent variable is
social skills that have occurred previously. The population in this study is the community in
Perawang Indah Village, Tualang District, Siak Regency, aged 15-65 years, with a sample of 815
households, taken using random sampling technique with a 10% error rate.
The results of this study show a significant and positive influence between the variable of
Social Skills (X) on Service Quality (Y) to the community in Perawang Indah Village, Tualang
District, Siak Regency, with an influence of 61.3%, and 38.7% is determined by other factors not
included in this study. The mean value for each research variable shows that the highest value is in
the service quality variable with a mean value of 4.20, followed by the social skills variable with a
mean value of 4.13. These findings conclude that both variables are in the high category, with an
overall average value of 4.16.
