Analisis Abrasi, Sedimentasi Dan Pemodelan Arus Laut Di Perairan Pantai Dumai Provinsi Riau
This study was conducted from October to November 2017 in Dumai waters, Riau Province. The analysis of satellite imagery was done in Laboratorium of Physical Oceanography, Departement of Marine Science, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, University of Riau. The research aims to understand the condition of Dumai coastline during 20 years and the effects of hydrodynamics on the coastline changes issue. Based on calculation, the average of abrasion reached 5.53 m/year and sedimentation reached 0.45 m/year. Data imagery shows replacement status of coastline from abrasion to sedimentation and reversed in coast Dumai. Hydrodynamic condition was simulated based on tidal conditions. The highest current speed occurred at the spring tidal condition with the maximum speed reached 1.84 m/s. Tidal current plays an important role in the coastline changes. In the area which has high current speed experiences abrasion and the area which has low current speed experiences sedimentation.
