Kinetika Reaksi Produksi Biodiesel Dari Minyak Nyamplung (Callophyllum Inophyllum) Menggunakan Katalis Lantanum/Lempung, Lempung Dan Lantanum Oksida
Biodiesel is monoalkyl ester of long chain fatty acids derived from vegetable oil or animal fat, and can be used as an alternative fuel for diesel engines, where Callophyllum inophyllum oil is a potential feedstock for biodiesel production. The ocjectives of this research were to synthesis of biodiesel from Callophyllum inophyllum oil using 3%lanthanum/clay, clay and lanthanum oxide catalyst, as well as to determine of kinetic of transesterification reaction of Callophyllum inophyllum oil. This study with having activation of the catalyst in addition H2SO4 to clay, then to get 3%lanthanum/clay, begins La metal was impregnated with clay then calcination, oxidation and reduction. Furthermore, to remove impurities in the oil was done degumming process. After that, transesterification was done in the three neck flask reactor having the mole ratio of methanol : oil 12:1 and a reaction time 120 minutes. During the process, the sample (10 gr) was taken in every 15 minutes for acid value and saponification value analysis and these data was used for calculations of reaction kinetic. The best result for kinetic of transesterification follows the first order reaction having reaction rate constant was 0,0086 liter.mol-1.menit-1 at 60 0C using clay catalyst. The activation energy for this reaction was 16,977 Kj.mol-1. Based on GC-MS analysis, it was concluded that methyl hexadecanoic the highest percentage of 78.87%.
