Konsep Diri Anak Berdasarkan Pola Komunikasi Dengan Orang Tua Tiri Di Kota Pekanbaru
The relationship of stepchildren and step-parents is a unique relationship, where the two are in a family relationship without blood ties. Of course it is not easy for a child to receive a new person in his life. Not to mention if the child's interpersonal relationship with step-parents does not go well. This will gradually affect how the concept of self is formed in the child. According to data in 2018 complaints from P2TP2A Riau Province the highest cases of crimes against children occurred in pekanbaru city reached 91 cases and as of September 2019 had 48 cases. This shows that not a few children are victims of crime by parents. The purpose of this study is to find out how the concept of self covers physiological aspects, psychological aspects, psycho-sociological aspects and psycho-ethical and moral aspects of children based on communication patterns with step parents.
This research uses qualitative research method with Phenomenological approach. The study subjects consisted of four informants obtained using snowball techniques. Data collection techniques in this study through in-depth interviews, observations and documentation, to achieve the validity of the author's data using the extension of participation and triangulation.
The results showed that stepchildren have different concepts of self. From the physiological aspect, indicated by high confidence in the physical aspect, the four informants have a self-concept that tends to be positive. From the psychological aspect, it is shown from the relationship of the child and step-parents and how the attitude changes after living with the step-parents, then the three informants have a self-concept that tends to be negative and one informant has a positive self-concept. From the psycho-sociological aspects shown from how stepchildren interact with step-parents, self-openness and how the child interacts with the social environment when or not with step-parents, then the four informants have a self-concept that tends to be negative. And in terms of psycho-ethical and moral aspects that show how the child's ethics with step-parents and how step-parents treat the child, then the three informants have a self-concept that tends to be negative while one informant has a self-concept that tends to be positive. According to stepchildren the pattern of communication formed between step-parents and stepchildren is a permissive communication pattern in which step-parents give freedom to the child as a form of indictuity.
