This research describes and explains Indonesia’s foreign politics throughout president SBY’s era on its responds about the issues of Rohingya. Moreover, the research also focused on its implications towards the pattern of Indonesia’s diplomacy ahead. Human rights violations by the government of Myanmar towards Rohingya ethnic, as the most fragile community, stimulates various responds from international communities, especially Indonesia. Its roles on abating the conflict use both persuasion and negotiation methods.
The research uses the qualitative method, and the premier data gathered through interview with the informer from Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Representative Council. In addition, the secondary data gathered from various documents, books, journals, reports, and internet sites. The researcher analyzes the data descriptively, systematically, and objectively so that resulting the factual, actual, and accurate based on the data.
The result of this research describes Indonesia’s government efforts on solving the problem on Myanmar throughout the SBY’s leadership by diplomacy through sharing of expertise on regional and international forums such as ASEAN, the UN, and Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Indonesia also succeed on getting permission on giving humanitarian aids to the conflicts regions in Myanmar. The efforts were not only for finishing the conflict partially, but also giving attention the roosts of the problem, so it could achieve the goal that has been aspired together, that is peace.
