Social isolation is a disease of mental disorder that has a close connection
with communication. Simply, social isolation is a condition where individuals
experience decline or are not even able to interact with others. Then arises a
question to self-esteem writers how to cure mental disorders of patients social
isolation? In the medical world, especially psychotherapy using the patient's
healing techniques of social isolation mental disorders called therapeutic
communication. Therapeutic communication looks at the life-source disorders of
communication disorders with the patient's inability to reveal themselves. In short,
straightening the sick person by communicating with the goal of developing the
patient's personal goals in a more positive direction, adaptive response, helping
the patient to clarify and reduce the burden of feelings and thoughts and can Take
action (decisions), help patients manage their strength effectively, help patients
adapt, ability to foster an unsuperficial and interdependent interpersonal
relationship with others.
This research uses the concept of interpersonal communication with
qualitative methods. The research subject uses the purposif technique. The
informant in this study includes 3 informant, the first informant is the head of the
room team, Rokan Hospital Jiwa (RSJ) handsome Pekanbaru who has a
responsibility to mental isolation patients. The second informant is the nurse who
handles the patient disorders social isolation mental Health hospital (RSJ)
handsome Pekanbaru. The third informant is the patient family as comparative
data in the study. Data collection techniques are observations, interviews, and
documentation. Data analysis techniques conducted using interactive data
analysis models Miles and Huberman. To achieve the validity of data in this
research the author uses triangulation.
The results of this study showed that the therapeutic communication of
Nurses in hospital (RSJ) handsome Pekanbaru in the process of healing the soul
disorders social isolation is needed effective implementation strategy, among
others, building trust to Patients, getting acquainted with the first person (nurse),
and getting acquainted with the second person (other patients). From each of
these implementation strategies, have an orientation phase, a working phase, and
a phase of termination that aims to teach patients gradually in the process of
healing the mental disorders of social isolation by providing motivation and
