Facilities and infrastructure are one of the important elements in the world of education. Facilities and infrastructure are absolute requirements for an educational institution which cannot be separated from the educational process. School facilities and infrastructure are one of the supporting factors in supporting the quality and process of teaching and learning activities. Therefore, the existence of facilities and infrastructure will provide comfort to all educational practitioners in an institution or school. Optimal use of infrastructure can create a pleasant atmosphere for both teachers and students, so that learning achievement can increase and educational institutions can also improve the quality of learning, because adequate facilities are used optimally by teachers. The more complete and optimally used the facilities and infrastructure of a school, the easier it will be for students and teachers to achieve targets together.
Based on the problem, it can be identified that the work environment can influence the optimization of infrastructure by teachers, this is because supportive work environment conditions are really needed by teachers. A good work environment will facilitate teachers to work better by optimizing the use of infrastructure. A good work environment will maximize teachers' ability to do their work. Optimizing infrastructure is also identified as being influenced by teacher commitment. Commitment is an attitude that a person has towards the work they do with full attention and affection. This means that commitment is born from an attitude driven by a feeling of giving attention and affection to the object of the task or work being done. Without the desire to provide attention and affection, commitment will never emerge as an attitude that exists in every individual towards whatever tasks and work they undertake.
This research raises research problems regarding: (1) Is there an influence between the work environment and the optimization of infrastructure by state elementary school teachers in Payung Sekaki District? (2) Is there an influence between the commitment to optimizing infrastructure and infrastructure by state elementary school teachers in Payung Sekaki District? (3) Is there an influence between the work environment and teacher commitment to the optimization of infrastructure by State Elementary School teachers in Payung Seka District? Then based on the problem formulation, the objectives of this research include; (1) To determine and analyze the influence of the work environment on the optimization of infrastructure by State Elementary School teachers in Payung Sekaki District. (2) To determine and analyze the influence between the work environment and commitment to the optimization of infrastructure by State Elementary School teachers in Payung Sekaki District.
This research uses a quantitative approach with the type of research that will be used is ex post facto research. The technique in this research was carried out to analyze the influence between two independent variables, namely work environment (X1), commitment (X2), on one dependent variable, namely optimization of facilities and infrastructure (Y). The population in this study was all 199 public elementary school teachers in Payung Sekaki District, the research sample was 133 teachers in public elementary schools in Payung Sekaki District. The trial was carried out on 30 school teachers from whom the remaining samples were taken. The data collection technique is in the form of an instrument in the form of a questionnaire. Meanwhile, what is used to process and analyze data in this research is research data profile analysis techniques in the form of descriptions, descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. This research data was analyzed using the SPSS (statistical package for social science) Version.25 program.
The results of the research showed that (1) there was a significant and positive influence between work environment variables on the optimization of infrastructure and facilities by State Elementary School teachers in Payung Sekaki District, and the magnitude of the influence was 44.6% (2) a significant and positive influence of the commitment variable on optimization infrastructure facilities by State Elementary School teachers in Payung Sekaki District and the magnitude of the influence is 45.6%, and (3) the significant and positive influence of work environment variables and commitment on the optimization of infrastructure for State Elementary School teachers in Payung Sekaki District and the influence magnitude is 55.8 %.
