Studi Eksperimental Pengaruh Penggunaan Bresing Pada Struktur Sdof Dan Mdof Akibat Beban Getar Horizontal
ABSTRACT
Testing on a large scale is challenging, so a building structure modeling is applied to a shaking table as a source of vibration media. Building structures that experiencevibrationsdueto earthquakesorwind can cause significantdeformation or even collapse. This study aims to analyze the effect of bracing on the response of SDOF and MDOF structures due to horizontal vibration loads. This study was conducted through an experimental approach with Single Degree of Freedom (SDOF) and Multi Degree of Freedom (MDOF) structural models. To reduce these vibrations, an understanding of the vibration behaviorof structureswith SDOF and MDOF systemsisrequired. The variationsof building modelstested were one-story to three-story building structure models with and without bracing. Testing was carried out using a vibrating table with varying frequencies to see the differences in each structural response. The parameters observed in this study were displacement and acceleration on each floor of the model that had been created. The results of the study showed that the model without bracing experienced maximum acceleration at each vibrating table frequency of 490 m/s2 with a vibrating table frequency of 15 Hz, 649 cm/s2 with a vibrating table frequency of 20 Hz, and 774 cm/s2 with a vibrating table frequency of 25 Hz. Meanwhile, the model using bracing experienced the largest acceleration reduction of up to 30% for a vibrating table frequency of 25 Hz. Bracing increases the lateral stiffness of the structure, thereby reducing deformation to be smallerthan the structure without bracing. The maximum displacement value of the model without bracing at each frequency was 1.08 cm (f = 15 Hz), 1.54 cm (f = 20 Hz), and 2.84 cm (f = 25 Hz). The acceleration value of the model with bracing experienced a maximum decrease of up to 30%. From the study conducted, it can be concluded that the use of bracing in MDOF structures has a 30% decrease in structural response.
