ABSTRACT
Bur Telege is one of the natural tourism areas that has a variety of tourist activities and is developing. The development of tourist attractions requires an analysis of land suitability and development strategies to realize management that can improve the welfare of the community while still paying attention to environmental sustainability. The purpose of this study was to determine the suitability of land and formulate alternative development strategies for the Bur Telege natural tourism area. The research approach used is a mixture of qualitative and quantitative. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. Information about the internal and external conditions of the location was obtained from observations, interviews with informants and document studies. Descriptive-quantitative data analysis includes analysis of land suitability for tourism activities and SWOT analysis to formulate alternative development strategies. The results showed that the Bur Telege area is suitable for camping and picnic areas, and quite suitable for play areas. Based on the results of SWOT analysis, this tourist area is in Quadrant I, so the recommended priority strategy is an aggressive strategy by maximizing strengths and opportunities progressively to improve tourism management.
