Modifikasi Mesin Pencetak Biopelet Bahan Serat Batang Sawit
ABSTRACT
Benefits from waste the oil palm trunk is biomass. The biomass developed from this
oil palm trunk is a biopelet. For the production of biopelet, it takes a molding press to
make a biopelet which is a biopelet press based on fibers from the palm. This final
project was created with purpose modifying a biopelet molding machine In order to
mobilise the machines easier and the resulting biopelet size is more evenly. Before
modified Biopelet molding material from palm fibers has a framing on a low engine
therefore difficult to move, as well as a roller press with no bearings. These
modifications cover modifications on the roller press, the addition of a cutting knife,
the addition of a pedestal swivel, framework, and increase the power in the motor.
The raw materials of biopelet are the waste oil palm trunk and the biopelet compound
is tapioca 25% and fibers from the palm 75%. In this final project, obtained the
results which is a biopelet printing machine made from palm fibers capable of
producing pellets size diameter 6 mm with a long biopelet 20 mm to 30 mm. Biopelet
engine modifications with fiber oil palm trunk it's on an electric motor ½ HP by
spinning 1450 rpm. The components of this machine consist of a shaft in diameter 20
mm and long 210 mm, a roller press 57 mm in diameter to a depth of 60 mm and a
total of 38 teeth, a plate die 230 mm in diameter and a thickness 20 mm, then a steel
pipe used for the upper case and lower case was 230 mm across and 3 mm thick.
