Studi Kenyamanan Pejalan Kaki Di Trotoar Pada Kawasan Jalan Jendral Ahmad Yani Kota Pekanbaru Provinsi Riau

ABSTRACT
The sidewalk is a special path provided for pedestrians. The encountered problem
in urban areas is the misuse of the sidewalk function, especially on the sidewalks
in the Jalan Jendral Ahmad Yani, Pekanbaru City. Based on these problems, the
researchers evaluated the dimensions and service system of Jalan Ahmad Yani,
Pekanbaru City. Planning standards referring to the Regulation of the Minister
of Public Works and Public Housing 2018 concern in Planning for Pedestrian
Facilities. Researcher conducted a study of pedestrian perceptions through a
questionnaire survey to obtain the level of pedestrian comfort on the sidewalks in
the area of Jalan Jendral Ahmad Yani Pekanbaru City with descriptive
percentage analysis method. The research was conducted by dividing the
sidewalks in the area of Jalan Jendral Ahmad Yani Pekanbaru City into four
research segments. The dividing segments is carried out to facilitate researchers
in conducting surveys (observasion and data collection phase) in the study area.
Based on the results of the questionnaire survey of pedestrian perception
research, the percentage of pedestrian comfort level in1st segment is 66.8%
including quite comfortable category, percentage of pedestrian comfort level in
2nd segment is 56.92% including quite comfortable category, percentage of
pedestrian comfort level in 3rd segment of 57.1% including quite comfortable
category, and the perception of pedestrians in 4th segment of 75.8% including
comfortable category. Pedestrians perceptions are only comfortable in segment 4
and the other three segments, pedestrians are categorized as quite comfortable.
Based on pedestrian perceptions, it is necessary to improve the quality of the
sidewalks and maintain the condition of the sidewalks because there are still
disturbances in pedestrian comfort due to damaged sidewalk conditions and
facilities, as well as disturbances due to street vendors and illegal parking on the
sidewalks in Jalan Jendral Ahmad Yani, Pekanbaru City.
