Pengujian Kuat Lentur Dan Kuat Tekan Pada Papan Jenis Kayu Mahang Dengan Menggunakan Coating/Lapisan
ABSTRACT
The Bending Strength and Compressive Strength Test on Mahang Wood Boards is a
test that aims to determine changes in the strength and compressive strength of
mahang wood with 3 different types, namely solid wood, wood with 1 layer of resin
and wood with 2 layers of resin. In each test, the wood class was found to be class IV
– V. In testing the flexural strength of 1-ply coating wood decreased by 2.59 MPa or
about 0.06%, this was due to the fact that the thickness of the resin had not been
sufficiently influential to contribute and required thickness. more and maybe the
wood is younger than the solid wood and resin coated wood testing. Meanwhile, in
the flexural strength test of 2-ply coated wood, there was an increase of 1.15 MPa or
about 0.025% of the flexural strength test of solid wood. For testing the compressive
strength of 1-ply coated wood, it was decreased by 0.22 MPa or about 0.012%, while
in the test of 2-ply-coated wood the compressive strength was decrease by 1,53 MPa
or about 0.018% of the compressive strength of solid wood.
