Analisis Exergy Mesin Diesel 5 Mw Dengan Menggunakan Bahan Bakar B30 Di Pltd Selat Panjang
ABSTRACT
Electrical energy is a very important supporting factor for the overall development
of a nation, so that industrial and population activities, the need for electrical
energy also increases. There are several factors that affect the availability of
electricity in Indonesia, including the availability of primary energy and fuel prices.
Many efforts have been made in energy efficiency in power plants. One way to
improve the efficiency of energy use is to conduct analysis. The analysis referred to
here is exergy analysis. The purpose of this study was to analyze, and identify the
occurrence of energy loss in the diesel engine that uses B30 fuel at the Selat
Panjang PLTD unit 4. The data were collected using a daily operation report log
sheet for the Caterpillar 3512B diesel engine with 3 x 24 hour intervals. From the
analysis carried out, the largest destroyed energy occurs in the combustion process
of 163,39 kW, at the exhaust stroke of 124,56 kW. With the net work obtained is
420,16 kW. The combustion process is the location where the largest exergy is
destroyed with a percentage of 24,96 %, while the smallest percentage that is
destroyed occurs in the expansion step with 11,27 %. From the calculation results,
the exergy efficiency value is 37,78 %.
