A Study On The Ability Of The Second Year Students Of State Junior High School 21 Pekanbaru In Identifying Quantifiers

This research aimed to find out the ability of the second year students of State Junior High School 21 Pekanbaru in identifying quantifiers. The sample of this research was two classes of the second year students that were chosen by using cluster random sampling technique. The population of this research was 78 students. The researcher conducted the test as instrument to gain the data about students’ ability in identifying quantifiers. There are three aspects for identifying quantifiers which are neutral quantity quantifiers, large quantity quantifiers, and small quantity quantifiers. The result showed that 68.80% students have a good level to identifying neutral quantity quantifiers, 76.15% students have a good level in identifying large quantity quantifiers, 60% students have mediocre level in small quantity quantifiers. In conclusion, the ability of the second year students of State Junior High School in identifying quantifiers is good level with 68.3 as average score.
