The Correlation Between Students’ Habit In Watching English Youtube Videos And Their Listening Skill
This research is a correlational-research which is intended to find out whether there is a significant correlation between students’ habit in watching English YouTube videos and their listening skills of the third-semester students of English Study Program FKIP UR. The samples were 40 students selected through the cluster random sampling method. The data were collected using online questionnaire via Google Form and listening skill test were adapted from the paper-based Longman TOEFL book. The findings of this study revealed a correlation between students’ habit in watching English YouTube videos and their listening skills with a coefficient of correlation of 0.293. The result of the study showed, that there was a very low correlation between the students’ habit in watching English YouTube videos and their listening skills of the third-semester students of English Study Program FKIP UR. The habit of students watching English YouTube videos has a 29% contribution to their listening skills.
