Manajemen Kepala Sekolah Dalam Meningkatkan Mutu Pendidikan Di SMA Negeri 8 Pekanbaru
Education that is successful in achieving goals in schools requires the
management ability of the principal. Management is absolutely owned by the
principal as the person who is responsible for the school he manages. SMA
Negeri 8 Pekanbaru under the leadership of Tavip Tria Candra, S.Pd, MM.,,
strives continuously to improve the quality of graduates who have superior
personalities who are independent, professional, committed and environmentally
cultured in the global era and are able to compete wherever they are. The
research in this thesis is descriptive with a qualitative approach, collecting data
using interview, observation and documentation techniques, while data analysis
uses data reduction techniques, data display, checking the validity of the data
through triangulation and then drawing conclusions.
The results showed that the principal of SMA Negeri 8 Pekanbaru had
carried out the management process and management functions very well in
curriculum management. At the planning stage, the head of madrasa combines the
administrative approach with the grass roots approach which is based on the
needs of students in accordance with government regulations. In the process of
organizing the curriculum, the head of sekolah performs two stages, namely the
stages at the structural level and the academic level.
The stages of implementing curriculum management, the head of SMA
Negeri 8 divides the stages into two levels, namely the implementation of the
school and grade level curriculum, meanwhile, for the supervision stage the
principal applies formative and summative evaluations. The management ability
of the head of SMA Negeri 8 in managing personnel management is said to be
quite good, as well as at the planning and evaluation stages. At the planning
stage, the principal has involved the entire school structure in its planning, as
well as at the planning stage for infrastructure, the principal divides the needs
according to the time period, namely short, medium and long term, forms an
organizational structure for the implementation of sarpras, carries out
implementation in accordance with PP standards. No. 19 of 2005 and evaluate all
stages of the managerial process. However, the author found the lack of attention
from the head of SMA Negeri 8 to the facilities and infrastructure at SMA Negeri
8 Pekanbaru, especially sports buildings. And in planning supervision, the lack of
sanctions given by the head of SMA Negeri 8 Pekanbaru.
