This research background by observation made, show many teacher not
have good performance for do task and function, such as make program learning,
evaluation, day evaluation, carry out improvement and enrichment programs as
responsibility. Teacher have bad performance such as : monotonous teaching and
using lecture methode and do not using media learning to support learning
activites. Teacher still use simple teaching preparation, not used applicable
curriculum reference, and do not consistence for implementation RPP.
This research aims to know The Influence of Principal Leadership and
Teacher Professinalism On Teacher Performance in Senior High School Selat
Panjang, Meranti Island . This research using quantitative research, and using
quisioner. Population in this research Teacher in Senior High School Tebing
Tinggi, Meranti Island as 231 teacher, and then use random sampling.
Based on the result of research conclude that the principal leadership has
a positive effect 17%. That result explain that the better leadership given by the
principal effect and improve teacher good performance. Teacher professionalism
have good influence to teacher performance until 26%. That the result if teacher
professionalism can make good teacher performance. Principal leadership and
teacher professionalism influence together to teacher performance at Senior High
School, Tebing Tinggi, Meranti Island until 44,2%.
