Perubahan Profesi Pedagang Pakaian Ke Petani Bawang Merah (Allium Cepa) Pada Masyarakat Jambun Jorong Sitapung Nagari Balai Gurah
West Sumatra Province is famous for having abundant natural resources or can be interpreted as being rich in natural resources. People in West Sumatra have diverse livelihoods in order to meet all the needs of the community. People's livelihoods are usually adjusted according to the area where the community lives, such as in coastal areas the people have a livelihood as fishermen and people in plain areas usually make a living as traders, farmers, and so on. For example, the people in the Ampek Angkek sub-district, which is located in the Agam district, the people have a livelihood as traders and farmers, in the Balai Gurah village itself, many people become clothing traders in the Aur kuning market and Ateh Bukittinggi market. This research uses qualitative research methods using a descriptive approach. The changes in the livelihood professions that occur in the Nagari Balai Gurah community are seen rapidly, along with the development of the covid 19 outbreak in Indonesia which is also starting to have a major impact on the community's economy, especially the Nagari Balai Gurah community. This made the people of Nagari Balai Gurah take action to try to find additional work with the aim of increasing their income. The shift in livelihoods in the Jambun Jorong Sitapung Nagari Balai Gurah community was caused by a decrease in income in the market and coupled with the Covid-19 outbreak, thus making clothing traders turn to onion farmers in Jambun Jorong Sitapung Nagari Balai Gurah, with the shift in livelihoods, the community who used to make a living as clothing traders and later became shallot farmers gave a better effect to re-stabilize their economy. The shift in livelihood also had a positive impact on the people of Jambun Jorong Sitapung Nagari Balai Gurah, namely the shallot farmers in Jambun Jorong. Sitapung Nagari Balai Gurah provides or creates jobs for the surrounding community. Keywords: change, livelihood, socio-economic development
