Analisis Neraca Air Lahan Gambut Pada Kesatuan Hidrologis Gambut Pulau Rupat
ABSTRACT
Rupat Island is one of the islands included in the peat restoration planning area in Indonesia. This is caused by the large changes in land use on Rupat Island which can lead to disaster if the balance of Rupat Island's water balance is disturbed. This study aims to analyze the water balance of peatlands at the Peat Hydrological Unit (PHU) on Rupat Island to obtain surplus or deficit so that a scenario for regulating the water system on peatlands can be carried out, so that when a surplus does not cause a disaster, while in a deficit, the land is peat is still wet. To analyze the water balance of this Rupat Island peatland, the Thornthwaite & Mather (TMWB) method was used. This TMWB method will examine the condition of the land water balance in the Rupat Island PHU which will then carry out a simulation of the prediction of the peatland water balance for 2021 to 2025. Based on the results of this study, in 2020 the deficit occurred in sub-PHU 2 in February of 24,20 million m3 for the climatological water balance and 48,27 million m3 for the land water balance. Meanwhile, the surplus in the climatological water balance was in sub-PHU 2 in November 126,89 million m3 and for the land water balance of 44,93 million m3 in November. For the analysis results, the prediction of the water balance from 2021 to 2025 has decreased from a surplus to a condition dominated by a deficit.
