Evaluasi Kinerja Implementasi Teknologi Modifikasi Cuaca (Tmc) Berdasarkan Tiga Parameter (Studi Kasus: Kabupaten Rokan Hilir, Kabupaten Siak Dan Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti)
ABSTRACT
From 2017 until 2020 the Province of Riau faces forest and land fires which is tend
to be caused by peatlands clearing by irresponsible parties. Forest fires that often
occur so far are very detrimental both from an economic and an ecological
perspective. One of the methods of prevention activities that could be carried out is
Weather Modification Technology. This activity is generally used to deal with
climate and weather disasters. In this study, a research will be conducted on the
effect of rainfall due to Weather Modification Technology (WMT) with three
parameters, namely increasing rainfall, reducing hotspots, and their effect on the
area of land and forest fires in Rokan Hilir area, Siak area and Meranti Islands
area. The data used in this research are rainfall data from the TRMM satellite,
hotspot distribution data from the modis website and also data from forest and land
fire area using ArcGIS application. From the data analysis, the results of the WMT
evaluation in Rokan Hilir area during the period of 2020 experienced an increase
in rainfall (PCH) by 1,27, a decrease in hotspots (PHS) by 0,90 and also a decrease
in land fire area (PLS) by 0,73. Meanwhile in Meranti Islands area during the
period of 2020 experienced an increase in rainfall (PCH) by 1,28, a decrease in
hotspots (PHS) by 0,86 and also a decrease in land fire area (PLS) by -1,43.
