This research was motivated by the unpreparedness of students in the
practice of introducing the school field (PLP). This unpreparedness is due to
several reasons, namely, students feel they are still not optimal in mastering basic
teaching skills, many students are still confused in using appropriate and
appropriate learning media in carrying out the learning process, students'
mentality is still not ready when they have to teach directly in the classroom.
especially in dealing with various kinds of student behavior, students are still
confused in the use of methods and strategies that will be used when teaching
because each learning material has different learning methods and strategies,
students are also still not optimal in utilizing learning resources to support the learning process. take place. So that before carrying out the practice of introducing the school field (PLP), students are required to pass the microteaching learning because there are 7 basic teaching skills that must be mastered by students as a provision to carry out the practice of introducing the school field (PLP).
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of microteaching learning on the practice of introducing school fields (PLP). The population used in this study were active students of Economic Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, class of 2018 Riau University. The number of samples used in this study were 66 students using saturated samples. This research is a descriptive quantitative research with data analysis technique using regression coefficient analysis.
After the authors conducted the analysis in this study, it can be concluded that the descriptive microteaching results of 66.7% are in the skilled category. Furthermore, the descriptive results of the introduction of the school field (PLP) of 59% are in the high category. Furthermore, based on the analysis of the regression coefficients, it shows that the significant value obtained is 0.000, which means that the value is smaller than the alpha level (0.000
