Peran Supervisi Kepala SMA Negeri 6 Tualang Dalam Peningkatan Mutu Pendidikan Di SMA Negeri 6 Tualang Perawang Barat Kabupaten Siak
This study aims to: 1) To determine the role of supervision of the
Principal of SMA Negeri 6 Tualang in improving the quality of education at SMA
Negeri 6 Tualang Perawang Barat Siak Regency, 2) To determine the factors that
influence the role of the head of SMA Negeri 6 Tualang in improving the quality
of education in SMA Negeri 6 Tualang Perawang Barat Siak Regency. This type
of research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques using document
review, observation, and interviews. Informants/subjects in this study are elements
in schools that can be used as data sources, in this case SMA Negeri 6 Tualang.
The type of data obtained is in the form of qualitative descriptive data.
The results of the research on the Supervision Role of the Head of Sma
Negeri 6 Tualang in Improving the Quality of Education at Sma Negeri 6 Tualang
Perawang Barat Siak Regency, which includes: 1) The role of the supervising
head of SMA Negeri 6 Tualang in Improving the Quality of Education at SMA
Negeri 6 Tualang Perawang Barat Siak Regency has been running very well.
Where each indicator related to the role of supervision has been carried out well
by the head of SMA Negeri 6 Tualang. The role of supervision is carried out in
improving the quality of education by planning supervision, carrying out
supervision, and following up on the results of supervision, 2) The role of
supervision in the subfocus of teacher direction is already in the good category.
Where on each indicator related to teacher direction, the supervisory role of the
head of SMA Negeri 6 Tualang has ensured that the teacher's direction to the
teachers is in accordance with the goal of improving the quality of education.
However, the shortcoming in the sub-focus of teacher direction lies in working
with teachers to develop, find and use teaching methods that are more in line with
the demands of the current curriculum. Teachers are only required to develop
learning that is in accordance with the demands of the curriculum that is
currently in effect without being given direction through supervision activities of
the head of SMA Negeri 6 Tualang, 3) The role of supervising the head of SMA
Negeri 6 Tualang in helping to solve problems the teacher has provided good
services in the form of guidance and coaching to help teacher in relation to
teaching. Teachers who have difficulty in teaching, ask the principal. At the end of
the implementation of supervision, the principal also does something that is in
nature providing guidance and coaching to teachers. For example: what are the
results of supervision, where are the teacher's shortcomings/strengths, how are
the solutions and so on, which ultimately serve as the basis for providing
guidance and coaching that assists teachers in solving problems, 4) The role of
supervising the head of SMA Negeri 6 Tualang in creating interpersonal
relationships have been running and have a good category. Where the supervisory
role of the head of SMA Negeri 6 which is carried out must be able to provide
guidance and supervision in order to improve the ability of educational staff, open
