Pengembangan Lkm Elektronik Konsep Struktur Komunitas Untuk Meningkatkan Literasi Sains Mahasiswa Pada Mata Kuliah Ekologi Di Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi Unri
Ecology is one of the compulsory Expertise Courses whose Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL) have not been adjusted to the 2020 curriculum based on Outcome Based Education (OBE) in the Biology Education Study Program, University of Riau. 21st century learning requires increasing scientific literacy so that students have good competencies. One of the ecological materials is the concept of community structure whose scientific literacy competence can be stimulated through practical activities in the field which are integrated with LKM teaching materials as a practical guide. Practical activities can take advantage of local potential in the UNRI Forest. The existence of previous research on the concept of community structure and analysis of student impairment in the last 2 years supported by the results of interviews and student responses, it is necessary to develop an electronic LKM with the concept of community structure to improve scientific literacy skills. This study aims to analyze the validity, practicality and effectiveness of the electronic LKM community structure concept to improve student scientific literacy in the Ecology Course at the UNRI Biology Education Study Program.
The Ecology course discusses ecological theories and concepts, one of which is the concept of community structure. The concept of community structure according to the Semester Learning Plan (RPS) consists of 4 credits, at the 6th, 7th and 8th meetings, with CPMK 1, 2 and 6 and Sub-CPMK 7,8 and 9. The concept of community structure developed is limited to material plant community and animal community with 2 types of practicum, namely plant community practice and animal community (soil arthropods). Student Worksheets were developed using the Smart Apps Creator (SAC) desktop application which can be accessed on smart phones, both offline and online. Aspects of scientific literacy in the development of electronic LKMs are aspects of context, knowledge, competence and attitudes. Scientific literacy ability is measured by indicators of competence aspects.
The research method uses the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation). The analysis phase consists of curriculum analysis, lesson plans, needs and student analysis. The design stage is carried out by designing the development of practicum activities, electronic LKM formats, scientific literacy indicators and electronic LKM design. The development stage is carried out in terms of appearance, software, use, content and language of the electronic LKM. Validity test was carried out by 4 expert validators, practicality test to lecturers and limited trial to students. The implementation of the research is a quasi-experimental research, with a pretest-posttest control group research design using a purposive sampling technique, namely 30 control classes and 30 experimental classes. The electronic LKM is implemented during practicum activities. Test the effectiveness of the electronic
LKM through normality, homogeneity and independent sample t-test tests, the categories of differences in effectiveness values can be seen with the n-gain test, then the overall evaluation is carried out.
The results of the analysis showed that 3 out of 4 domains in the CPL Ecology Course based on the OBE curriculum, needed to be changed according to the characteristics of the Ecology Course. The design results obtained a modified LKM format and refers to scientific literacy indicators. The electronic MFI concept of community structure that has been designed is tested for validity. The value of the validity of the aspect of display quality (95.54%), software (91.25%), use (92.19%), content feasibility (96.15%), and language (97.92%), with an average value The overall validity average is 94.61%, which is a very valid category. The practicality test score for lecturers was 95.75% and the results of the trial limited to students were 98.80%, with a combined average practicality of 97.27% in the very practical category. The value of effectiveness through the pre-requisite test, namely the normality test, the new homogeneity test can test the hypothesis of the independent sample t-test. Based on the independent sample t-test data, it was found that there was a significant difference, which means that the developed electronic LKM improves students' scientific literacy skills. Further analysis related to the effectiveness of developing electronic MFIs by looking at the category of increasing student scientific literacy by determining the n-gain value for the control and experimental classes. The results of the analysis showed that the n-gain value for the control class was 0.49 with the medium category meaning effective and the experimental class n-gain value was 0.7 with the high category, these results prove that the electronic LKM community structure concept is very effective in improving literacy skills. student science.
The results of the study, it was concluded that: (1) The development of an electronic LKM community structure concept is very valid to improve students' scientific literacy skills in the Ecology Course at the UNRI Biology Education Study Program with a validity value of 94.61%, (2) Development of an electronic LKM the concept of community structure is classified as very practical to improve students' scientific literacy skills in the Ecology Course at the UNRI Biology Education Study Program with a practical value of 97%, (3) The development of the electronic LKM community structure concept is very effective because it has a significant effect on improving students' scientific literacy skills in Ecology Course in the UNRI Biology Education Study Program with an n-gain value of 0.7.
