Dampak Kenaikan Harga Minyak Goreng Kelapa Sawit Terhadap Konsumsi Minyak Goreng Di Kecamatan Tampan Kota Pekanbaru
ABSTRACT
Palm cooking oil is one of the basic needs for the people of Indonesia. In everyday life palm cooking oil is used for cooking such as, sauteing, and frying in small or large quantities. Because cooking oil can provide a more delicious flavor, delicious aroma, savory, and more attractive appearance than boiled or steamed food. In addition, cooking oil also makes food crispy, dry, and golden and brownish. Demand for cooking oil in Indonesia is getting higher every year. This is because the higher the population growth which causes the amount of cooking oil consumption is increasing. In addition, the increasing number of culinary traders also cause the need for cooking oil is getting higher. Cooking oil prices have increased every year. Tampan District is an area in the city of Pekanbaru which also experienced an increase in the price of Palm cooking oil. Given the importance of the role of Palm cooking oil, the increase in cooking oil prices certainly have an impact on the consumption of Palm cooking oil in the community. This study aims to describe how the characteristics of consumers of Palm cooking oil and describe the impact of Palm cooking oil price increases on the consumption of cooking oil in Tampan District. The results showed that respondents have diverse or heterogeneous characteristics of gender, age, number of family members, education, income, expenditure. The increase in the price of Palm cooking oil has a negative impact on the community such as increased spending and profits received by culinary traders are decreasing.
