This research is motivated by the low learning activity of class XI IPS 3 SMAN 1
Sungai Apit students in the History subject, student learning activity is still low so
that it affects student learning outcomes, many student learning outcomes have
not reached the specified KKM, which is 78. This is partly due to by the method
used in learning History is less precise. The purpose of this study was to
determine the activeness of learning history of students in class XI IPS 3 after the
implementation of the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model based on animation
media. This study uses a classroom action research method that lasts for two
cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings which include four stages, namely
planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data analysis
technique used the teacher activity observation sheet, student activity observation
sheet, and student learning activity observation sheet. The data were analyzed by
looking at teacher and student activities and student learning activities. The
indicator of the success of student learning activities is reaching the criteria with
a percentage of 75%. The results showed that the percentage of student learning
activities in the first cycle was 51.96% in the sufficient category, while in the
second cycle it increased to 69.61 in the good category. Teacher activity in the
first cycle showed a percentage of 67% in the good category, while the teacher
activity in the second cycle showed a percentage of 89% in the very good
category. Student learning activity in the first cycle was 50.22% in the low
category then increased in the second cycle, which was 85% in the high category.
Based on the research results obtained, the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning
model based on animation media can improve student learning activities
