Pengaruh Budaya Sekolah Dan Motivasi Kerja Terhadap Komitmen Guru SMP Di Kecamatan Dumai Kota, Kota Dumai
One of the supporters of development in Indonesia is education. One of the educational figures who have an important role in its success is the teacher. The teacher is a professional educator who has the duty and responsibility to teach and educate from low to high school levels. Therefore, teachers must have high competence in achieving educational goals.
School culture plays an important role in carrying out all learning activities at school. A good school culture will certainly produce commitment for teachers in carrying out their duties. Literally commitment is a situation where a person is bound by the actions he takes that support his activities. Teacher commitment is something that is very important in spurring a teacher to produce high work performance and is expected to later support the improvement of student achievement. Commitment plays an important role in producing the work of a person. Where commitment becomes a trigger for someone to be responsible for carrying out their duties. Many factors affect teacher commitment which results in ups and downs. Therefore, a high commitment must be maintained in order to achieve school goals. The resulting commitment of course begins with high motivation in carrying out their duties and responsibilities. Motivation is an important aspect in changing one's behavior. This is because in motivation there is a series of values and attitudes that affect the achievement of one's goals. Motivation is also a driving force for someone to behave to achieve the desired goal.
In this study there are three research variables, namely two independent variables consisting of School Culture (X1), and Work Motivation (X2), and one dependent variable, namely Teacher Commitment (Y). This type of research is quantitative research while the data sources needed in this research are primary data and secondary data. From the results of the research conducted, it turns out that there is a positive and significant influence of school culture on the commitment of junior high school teachers in Dumai city District. shown by the regression equation that is formed to be Y = 14,660 + 0.671 X1 SMP in Dumai City District. In addition, there is also a positive and significant effect of work motivation on the commitment of junior high school teachers in Dumai city District which is shown by the regression equation that is formed to Y = 1.978 + 0.920X2. Meanwhile, overall there is a positive and significant influence between school culture and work motivation on the commitment of junior high school teachers in Dumai city District where the regression equation becomes = 45.396 + 0.273X1 + 0.469 X2. Shown by the value of the contribution of School Culture (X1) Work Motivation (X2) on teacher commitment (Y) of 93.9%. Thus it can be concluded that the influence of school culture and work motivation together on teacher commitment has an interpretation or influence in the high category.

It is suggested to the principal to provide work motivation to teachers as educators. This is important where school culture will be a guide in adapting to the internal and external environment in an effort to make teachers active in carrying out their duties and have high commitment.
For further researchers who are interested in researching the problem of teacher commitment, they can use different methods and add different variables and constructs in the hope of producing new research findings
